Ghin Khao Eat Rice
Awesome food (perfectly spicy) and great prices! I will be back ?
South side getting some better and more flavorful culinary options...Great food,Great job!
The kind of place you want to try everything on the menu after going once. For the record I had the satay chicken and shrimp fried rice. Both excellent, fresh and perfectly seasoned!
Glad to have a new Thai place close to work. I came for my lunch break from the medical district. The pork shoulder and papaya salad were delicious. I loved the flavor and spice! Will definitely be back for more. Side note: decor was dope
When I find a place I love I go back again and again and order the same thing. Being that this place offers a Northern Thai menu meant trying something new and Ghi Khao did not disappoint. I ordered the shrimp fried rice which was served with many jumbo shrimp. Theres was no oily texture, no need for sauces and the flavor was vibrant and bright. I found myself ordering their chicken satay skewers as a side. For a buck a piece they are a tremendous value and come with the perfect portion of peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Hands down the best, juiciest, most tender satay I've ever eaten accompanied by the best flavor peanut sauce as well. I could have made that a meal in itself with an order of rice. My only delema now is deciding what I'll try the next time I'm there!
Small hole in the wall but the food is really really good. The shrimp salad was a highlight, cooked in a delicious fragrant sauce. Pork shoulder salad was so good too. All the sauces are homemade and tasty (e.g., peanut satay sauce). And the food is not greasy at all, just light and bright and flavorful. Oh, and, it's BYOB. Owner and server were both wonderful. Amazing change of pace for the neighborhood and, honestly, one of the best Thai meals I've had in Chicago. Will be going back for sure!
OMG!!!! Pork shoulder was perfect! Great atmosphere and decor. Will definitely be back.
AMAZING dinner! For two people we had the chicken satay, pork nam tok salad, pla goong salad & roasted chicken leg quarter with sticky rice (would definitely order each dish again). The food was filling without being heavy. All dishes were cooked to perfection, packed with flavor, and the homemade sauces were really special. The pla goong salad was a standout. The thai medium spice definitely packs a punch, less heat tolerant folks may want to scale down on the spice. And it's BYOB! Such a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, looking forward to returning many times.
What an amazing addition to this neighborhood!!!Not only was the food and staff amazing but the atmosphere was beautiful the murals are out of this world. The owner helped me with the menu and made sure I got to try a little of everything. The shrimp was cooked perfectly the pork was juicy and the papaya salad was so refreshing!!! I highly recommend checking this spot out and oh did I mention it's BYOB!!!!
Ghin Khao means Eat Rice...
You want Thai like you've never had before. NO NOODLES!! You won't find pad thai or curry. Instead you get to taste the flavors of northern Thailand. It's evident that these dishes have been passed on for generations with a dish called "Grandmas Recipe", and others like Thai "fried rice" and "fren fries". Chef Nova Sasi creates perfect pairings that are sure to have you craving for more. Definitely recommend it!! BYOB as well ...
